How long can I rent a dumpster and what’s the cost?

A Moon Dumpster rental is a one-time, all-in, flat fee, including dumpster placement, pick-up, and disposal. A $15.90 delivery charge is added to the base price of the dumpster. No sales tax, no hidden costs.

You have the dumpster for a period of 7 days, and the pricing remains the same whether you utilize it for the entire duration or not. There’s no reduction in price if you choose not to keep the dumpster for the full seven days.

If you need the dumpster for more than the first 7 days, there’s an extra rental fee of $10 per day.

Does Moon Dumpsters deliver outside of the Metro area?

We are based in Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky. Yes, we deliver outside of the metropolitan Louisville and Lexington areas, depending on distance. For example, Mount Washington is considered “outside of the metro area,” but we make frequent deliveries to Mount Washington.

Is there an extra fee for delivery outside of the Metro area?

Additional delivery charges over the standard, local delivery charge of $15.90 are always determined in advance and never charged without a quotation before delivery. Any additional delivery charges are confirmed in our rental agreement, which is emailed before your delivery.

How many days before my required delivery date should I place my order?

Sometimes we can deliver on the same day! We prefer you give us 2-3 days’ notice to schedule your delivery.

How do I place an order?

First, determine which size you need. Then fill out a form. You can also call us to place your order at 502-772-2821. If you have already been given a quote over the phone, please make a note of that price before submitting your order.

After you place your order, we will call you during regular business hours to confirm your delivery date and get your credit card information. After placing your order, we will email you our rental agreement detailing our terms and conditions and confirming the price, delivery date and time.

You do not need to be home for dumpster delivery or pick-up. We will call you 1 hour prior to delivery.

What’s your cancellation policy?

There is no penalty for order cancellations or delivery date changes. To change or cancel your order, please call or email us.

How do I pay for my dumpster?

Payment is taken over the phone. We accept MasterCard or Visa. Your credit card will be charged by the day before your delivery date. We do not accept checks. You can cancel your order at any time. We prefer that you give us at least 24 hours’ notice. If you cancel before we set up the dumpster, there is no cancellation fee. We will refund your card.

Do I need to be home when the dumpster is delivered and picked up?

No. It is not necessary that you be home. We can determine a placement location before delivery. We can have our driver call you 1 hour before delivery time if you prefer to meet the driver or give them instructions over the phone before setting up the dumpster. We will complete your delivery time requirements. We deliver and pick up Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays by appointment only.

Can I fill the contents above the top rim of the dumpster?

No! Due to the Department of Transportation regulations, we cannot transport a dumpster filled higher than the maximum load level. The customer is responsible for unloading contents exceeding the maximum height.

What items am I not allowed to put into a Moon Mini Dumpster?

• No dirt, concrete, asphalt, rock or plaster.
• No hazardous materials of any kind.
• No liquids of any kind.
• No oils or lubricants, including brake oil, transmission oil, motor oil, etc.
• No flammables, propane tanks, fuels, anti-freeze, etc.
• No pesticides, batteries, aerosol cans, medical waste, chemicals.
• No rubber tires or railroad ties.

What if I need the Moon Roll-Off Dumpsters for longer than expected?

Moon Dumpsters’ standard given period is 7 days; however, your given period can be extended. There is a $10 per day charge after 7 days.
